Amanda Claridy

Founder & Executive Director

Amanda Claridy, a native of Phenix City, Alabama, has a powerful story of transformation, resilience, and purpose. As a teenager, Amanda struggled with substance use in an effort to belong – an attempt that led to a 15-year battle with addiction, a period of homelessness, and eventually, a year in prison. But through the grace of God and a complete surrender to His will, Amanda found hope and healing. She entered The Lovelady Center’s recovery program and graduated in 2017.

From early on, Amanda felt a strong calling to serve – particularly to walk alongside women facing the same struggles she once endured. That calling became clearer as she began attending First Baptist Church Pelham in 2019. Her involvement in both international and local missions sparked a deep realization: her mission field was right here at home. She recognized a profound need in her own community and began praying for guidance.

Through years of faithful prayer and discernment, Amanda was led to establish a day resource center dedicated to serving homeless and low-income women in Shelby County. This new ministry, located on the campus of First Baptist Church Pelham, will be a safe and supportive place for women to access essential services, find encouragement, and begin their own journey toward restoration.
